What is RFID?
And benefits of RFID technology

RFID is an acronym that is short for Radio Frequency Identification. The term is used to describe the process of automatically identifying people or objects through the use of radio waves.

RFID Tag TypesAn RFID system consists of an antenna and a transceiver, which reads the radio frequency and transfers that information to a processing device (reader) and a transponder, or RF tag, which contains the RF circuitry and information to be transmitted.

The antenna enables the chip to transmit the identification information to a reader.  The reader converts the radio waves reflected back from the RFID tag into digital information that can then be passed on to a computer that can process and analyze the data.

One of the key advantages of RFID technology, is that it enables users to track objects with no line of sight or human intervention. This makes RFID tracking easier than traditional barcode scanning methods of keeping inventory.
