RFID has proven itself to be a useful technology that enables an organization to have visibility into their operations.   The ability to track people, assets, or products without the need for human intervention or direct line of site are the main drivers for the use of RFID technology.

With the exception of RFID compliance labeling, which has its own unique value to organizations, all of the applications listed have been deployed because they haven proven ROI.  Savings can come in many forms including man hours, lowered inventory carrying costs, improved customer service, reduced storage area, and reduced shrinkage.
